My resume design is very unique. I have not seen another resume like mine. I feel that the design allows me to express my creativity in a very effective way. I only ask that do not break your neck while viewing it.
The Nitro Cafe is a fictional restaurant located in New Bedford, MA. I designed this menu for a class assignment. The objective of this project was to gain an understand unity and consistency in design of multi-page document. I spent a decent chunk of time illustrating the turbocharger for the front cover. I decided to design the menu in the shape of a turbocharger because drag racing fans across the country will recognize and connect with Nitro Cafe's theme.

USA Kayak Tours is a fictional company for which I chose to design a logo and website layout for. Web 2.0 was premise behind this design. The logo features an island 'kayaking' in the ocean. I used that logo in a couple of different ways in the website layout. The website layout features a scrolling photo gallery on the home page followed by information about the company. I did not complete the coding aspect of this project. However, if I had completed the coding portion of this project, I would have used Wordpress.

Drag Tweets is a website that I am currently developing to display drag racing tweets from Twitter and news from around the world. Current Twitter users will be able to register an account on Drag Tweets and customize their homepage along with many other options. I will also be implementing a blog where users can comment and react to my thoughts.
This is a poster that I designed for a quick class assignment. We were to create an informational poster that showed off our design skills. I immediately though of this 'Facebook' type design and quickly began to work on it. I think that this poster effectively conveys that message because Facebook's design is so well-recognized in today's world.

This Avant Garde poster is the result of another class assignment. We were to design a type specimen poster in Adobe InDesign that demonstrated a particular font and informed the reader about the typographer who designed it. I chose Avant Garde because I believe that it is a well-designed typeface. I decided to base my poster on Avant Garde's release date of 1970. Herbert Lubalin had decided to design a font specifically for the "Avant Garde" magazine, but chose to complete it in 1968 and release it to the public in 1970. I went through a few variations before choosing this particular design and color scheme.

I chose to design currency for the NHRA (National Hot Rod Association) for a class assignment at Johnson & Wales University. The objective of the project was to create a currency for any type of theme, whether it was drag racing or conservation. The currency would be "fictionally" printed and used by the United States. Currency holders would see famous NHRA personnel on the front of the bills, and a slick (sticky tires used in drag racing) on the back. I feel that this currency could really help promote the sport of drag racing.

D.R.A.G - Drag Racing Association for Girls. The instructions for this assignment were simple: "create a campaign for a cause or organization of your choice". The campaign had to occupy both a virtual and physical space and needed to have a minimum of 4 design pieces. I chose to create an organization called D.R.A.G. The campaign objective was simple: get more women interested in drag racing. I chose to create a logo that looked like a Top Fuel Dragster (1st image) for my first piece of collateral. I then decided to create two billboard advertisements (2nd and 3rd images). After the billboards, I chose to design a full color brochure which would contain information about drag racing. I chose to create a website for the last piece of collateral for this project. The website layout that I chose almost looks like an informational flyer.

I designed this drink label with the average sports player in mind. The class assignment stated that we had to create a label for an already existing company or one that we would create. I thought of designing a sports drink for athletes of all skill levels. I was struggling to think of a name for the product at first, but after a few sketches I found that the word 'turf' flowed together in a seamless manor. The premise behind the name is the fact that every sport is played on some type of turf, whether it is grass, Astroturf or asphalt.

I chose to design a bag for the (RED) brand for a class project. The assignment stated that we had to design, or re-design an existing bag of our choice. For some reason, the GAP brand instantly popped into my head. After a bit more research, I decided to create a bag specifically for the (RED) brand. The final size of my bag design was 16 x 12 x 5. I chose to do a simple design, that would work for every (RED) item sold. I decided to create silhouettes of African animals, and portray them on the bag as if it was an African scene.

I chose to re-design the Massachusetts Driver's Manual for a class project. The assignment stated that we had to design, or re-design a book cover of our choice. I was struggling to find a book that I wanted to re-design until I stumbled upon my driver's manual. The original design was very childish and featured random swirls placed around the front and back covers. I felt that the original driver's manual did not convey the right message to new drivers. I believe that my design should hopefully make teen drivers feel more responsible. The "drive safely" message was not visible when the final version was printed because it was too opaque. I have not submitted my design to the Registry of Motor Vehicles at this time.

The objective of the I-Club is to integrate domestic students and international students. We have educational workshops, events and trips that we organize throughout the year. We hope to receive your support! The I-Club offers members many social and cultural activities throughout the year, which creates opportunities to unite domestic and international students from over 95 countries. Not only is the I-Club the perfect chance to get involved with the Johnson & Wales and greater Providence communities, but it also provides students with an opportunity to manage a campus-wide club, plan programs and market them.

This is version 2.0 of my Myspace layout. This version looks completely custom and is like no other Myspace layout that I have ever seen. I wanted to break the mold with this design. In fact, you may notice that my Myspace layout looks nothing like the normal Myspace design. The typeface that I used for my design is called Arial Rounded, which is the same typeface that Myspace has used in their logo. This project took longer than expected due to Myspace's horrible XHTML. I would estimate that I spent around 12 hours from start to finish on this project. If you're interested in having a look, please follow the link below. Please keep in mind that you do not need to register an account with Myspace to view my design.

I created this postcard for an assignment in my Basic Digital Imaging class. The assignment instructed us to create a sock puppet, and a postcard, that was based on a designer. I chose Herbert Bayer, an architect and a man who interested in typography during the 20th century. I designed my sock puppet based on "Universal", one of the typefaces. My puppet design is very simple, but it shows the interest that Bayer had in typography. I chose the simple route for my sock puppet because "Universal" is a very simple, yet clean, typeface. This assignment took me well over 8 hours to complete. The postcard will be professionally printed at MOO. While you're here, have a look at the Flickr gallery to see my classmates' designs.
